Andriessen Piano's - Vleugels specializes in the restoration of classical pianos and grand pianos. In our workshop with piano technicians/tuners, furniture restorers/polishers, ivory specialist and collection specialist, our specialists perform high-quality restorations. Old techniques such as polishing and the use of bone glue are still used daily.

In recent years, in addition to the shop collection, we have also built up a collection of concert grand pianos. Our collection of concert grand pianos consists of unique instruments from the period 1820 to 1921. We rent these instruments for concerts and recordings to musicians, concert venues and recording studios. Each instrument is restored from the perspective of the original builder, whereby original parts are reused and preserved as much as possible.

Before a restoration takes place, the support for the preservation of the instrument is carefully considered. Every instrument is unique and has its own story and character. Considerations are therefore made on the basis of various criteria, such as origin, condition, ensemble, representation and emotional values.

If a part does need to be replaced, it will be copied. In this process, details such as material, shape, weight and properties are carefully examined to remain as close to the original as possible. The sound and playing style are in this way representative of the period from which the instruments originally come.
